Valentine's Day Dried Flower Workshop
Hope everyone is staying warm this cold January. We’ve been quite happy with the snow (and the cold) as it keeps us inside going over seed orders, getting our timelines in order and figuring out the maps to where everything will be planted. Meanwhile, the hoop houses are filled with baby seedlings of ranunculus, anemones, campanula, snapdragons, & sweet peas all awaiting more light and warmth. The tulips in the field are still happily covered by snow, and the peonies are still asleep, awaiting their wood chip mulch as soon as it thaws. The perennial woodies are now living behind a more permanent fence to keep the pesky deer at bay. Who knew how much they liked forsythia, hydrangea, and viburnums?
And while we await spring to arrive, it’s time to gather to play with dried flowers. We have bunches of colorful larkspur, celosia, lunaria, feverfew, hydrangea, gomphrena, sunflowers, grasses and seed pods to use to design hand tied bouquets. This Valentine’s Day, grab a friend and spend an hour or so sipping something at Blue Hills Market on Thursday February 13 at 6:00pm. Come be creative with dried florals that will last!
