Jack Frost Changes the Direction of our Work
Greetings from the Blue Door. What a quick season we’ve had this year. Seems like just yesterday, Tom was asking me if I was ready for the season TO START… and now we’re nearing the end. Last night’s 25 degree temperatures turned our dahlias and zinnias to mush. Their black stems and leaves hold a memory of the amazing bounty of beautiful blooms they provided for the past 6 months.
But as we reflect on the fresh cuts the season provided, out attention now shifts to all the dried flowers hanging in our attic and cellar. Hundreds if not thousands of stems await the “dried season” where we mix the colorful flowers with fresh greens and twist them into wreaths that can be enjoyed for years. Sure, they get a little dusty, and the colors fade from greens to gold, but the incorporated flowers will hold their color for weeks, months, even years.
We’ve just uploaded a bunch of photos of wreaths and garlic braids from years past and encourage you to use the website to order. Just click on the tab for Dried Floral Wreaths and Garlic Braids and fill out the form at the bottom of the page. We’ll be in touch with invoice information ASAP.
Thanks for your amazing support of our small farm. Happy Fall!
